#1. You must have your availability set to teach a minimum 12 classes a week (6 hours)
Classes are 30 minutes each, so you need to be available for 12 classes to meet the requirement. You can be available for more, and your availability can change throughout your time working at Qkids. However, you cannot go less than 12 classes a week. Time off is not an issue as long as proper notification procedures have been followed.
Even though your availability will be 12 classes, that does not always mean you will be assigned a class in each of those time slots. Some classes will not be scheduled, some will be standby classes, and some will be regular classes.
#2. You must be able to work within set hours
Classes are scheduled in the following time slots (scheduled in Eastern Standard Time):
- Morning classes available 7 days a week:
|
- Evening classes available 7 days a week in the summer, or Friday and Saturday evenings during the school year
|
Please note! If you are in a country that observes Daylight Savings Time, then your teaching hours
would change during the year, as China does not observe Daylight Savings Time.

#3. You Must Have a Stable Internet Connection
Because Qkids is an online teaching platform, it is essential that you have a reliable internet connection. For this reason, Qkids requires you to have a hardwired Ethernet internet connection. You must be plugged in to teach classes. This reduces the risk of network errors.
#4. You Must Have a Mouse, a Headset, and a Webcam
You will need a headset with a microphone included to be able to teach effectively. It is a requirement from Qkids, and they do not consider the iPhone white earphones with the built in mic to be an acceptable headset. You will of course need a webcam so the kids can see you. Most computers have a built in one that works great, but if not, you can use an external webcam as well.
#5. You Must Have an Appropriate Teaching Space
You must have a teaching space that backs against a wall so that while you are teaching the students see only you, with a clean background. It is recommended that you decorate your teaching space, and there is a bonus to teachers who do so, but it it not required.

- While a mouse is not required, it is highly recommended. While you lead the games and lesson content, you will be doing a lot of clicking and using a track pad is more cumbersome.
